Roberts Camp

The Roberts Camps is favoured by Scouts, Guides and similar users who pitch their tents or sleep in the open in a wooded area along the Else River. Some Scout groups assist with the clearing of alien plants, the replanting of fynbos and helping to clear the Else River of debris.

Kids who have direct access to nature are better learners. Exposure to nature has been shown to reduce stress and increase attention spans. When a child is out in nature, all the senses get activated.

Nature provides countless opportunities for discovery, creativity, problem-solving, and STEM education. Interacting with nature environments allows children to learn by doing and experiment with ideas. STEM Education is a term to encompass ‘Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths’. … Education in the STEM subjects lays the foundation for children in critical thinking,

and to be literate in the language of the future. Steering education with foresight about the future

will set up a society for success.
